On Sunday 17th February we will be having a special service to celebrate 60 years of Hope City Church making a difference in people’s lives. We invite you to join with us at our 9:30am service at Grovely State School Performing Arts Complex to hear from people as they share their personal experience of the difference being part of the church family has made. Afterwards, we invite you to stay around and chat over a special celebration morning tea.
I’m so excited about this Sunday – the day we embark upon 14 days of Prayer and Fasting. Fourteen days to seek after God to pour out His favour on our church and our lives. Not only that, but this Sunday is also the beginning of our new series – Favour – kicking off with our first ever Shredder Sunday.
“What is a Shredder Sunday?”, I hear you ask. It’s our opportunity to take God up on His invitation found in Lamentations 3:23 – “His mercies begin afresh each morning.” It’s our opportunity to understand the favour of God over our lives and position ourselves to walk in it. Shredder Sunday is our opportunity to shred the things of the past that have hindered us from walking in His favour and walk out with a fresh sense of God’s favour over your life.
On Sunday, I’ll be asking you to think a little and consider a couple of things.
- What are the things that have held you back in 2016 that you don’t want to carry through to 2017?
- What are the things you’d like prayer for over this next 2 weeks of prayer and fasting?
If you can come having considered these two things, that will position you well to get the most out of this Sunday morning and our Favour series.
I’d also encourage you to consider what you are going to fast and how you’re going to create room in your life to seek God over and above in your prayer life over the next couple of weeks.
So looking forward to being back with everyone this Sunday.
