Hope City Church Celebrates 60 Years

On Sunday 17th February we will be having a special service to celebrate 60 years of Hope City Church making a difference in people’s lives. We invite you to join with us at our 9:30am service at Grovely State School Performing Arts Complex to hear from people as they share their personal experience of the difference being part of the church family has made. Afterwards, we invite you to stay around and chat over a special celebration morning tea.

Build 2016 - Establish, strengthen, increase. Hope City Church

What a great weekend in church.

On Sunday we had our 2nd ESTABLISH Sunday for the year in our Brisbane Campus.

As I heard of some of the great things God is doing and enabling us to do in ESTABLISHing the Kingdom, I left church grateful and amazed that God would use us – imperfect and broken vessels – to bring transformation to people’s lives and the communities we find ourselves in.

But while we celebrate what God does through us collectively, let’s never get to the point that we “contract out” to the collective church our individual responsibility to impact our sphere of influence.

Wherever you find yourself today, you have been allowed to step into that space by God. You may be the only Christian in your school, university or workplace. This is something to be celebrated, not lamented. In a place of darkness (as far as the light of the Gospel is concerned), you have been privileged to be set as the light of life and love. All those people that would never read a Bible will be reading your life and responding to it.

Let me encourage you to be looking for ways to step out of your comfort zone and ESTABLISH God’s Kingdom in your sphere of influence. With Lisa McInnes Smith coming up next weekend (July 31), you have a phenomenal opportunity to invite that friend or neighbour to something that will transform their lives.

See you in church
