Easter Every Day

Categories: From Alex and Sarah

Hey Church,

I hope your Easter weekend was a holy and blessed one.

Easter is such a great time in our community. It’s the time our nation stops and remembers what Jesus has done. Even the television news takes the time to show church services and Christian celebrations amidst talking about rabbits and chocolate.

Obviously, as Christians, we especially take time to reflect and be thankful for a God who loves us and a saviour willing to die for us.

I love that we get 4 days to stop the tilt-a-whirl that is our fast paced lives – specifically to focus on God’s love for us.

But can I let you in on a secret? Those 4 days aren’t the only time that Jesus wants to make Himself know to us. Today, 4 days after Resurrection Sunday, God still wants to engage you in the relationship that Jesus died to purchase.

It’s too easy to get straight back into the hustle and bustle of work or the frantic activity of school holidays. But Easter is the celebration of a way being made for relationship with God when there was no way we could have had that relationship. It’s the celebration of a God who loves you so much that He would do anything to restore the relationship that you and I broke through our sin and selfishness.

Can I encourage you to use this Easter period as the circuit breaker to take the time to go deeper in your relationship with God. Or maybe take this time to re-establish your relationship with God.

Jesus didn’t just die and rise again for a 4 day weekend. He died and rose again so that you and I could engage Him in intimacy in a way we never could have before.

I pray your week is a blessed one, whatever you find yourself doing.
