The Hope Project 2011

In August 2011 a team of 9 people from Hope City Church and Hope Empowered travelled to Vietnam and Thailand to continue the work of The Hope Project.

The Hope Project seeks to reduce and prevent the trafficking of children and women into sexual exploitation and slavery.

Hope’s heart and approach in addressing this complex issue is embodied in and through Community Transformation.

The single greatest cause of human trafficking is the demand for cheap and readily accessible goods and services. Whether that be cheap computers, cheap coffee, cheap chocolate, or cheap sex. The production of cheap commodities requires vulnerable and exploitable people and labour.

By focussing on building the capacity of vulnerable communities through education, health, infrastructure, sustainable practices, and economic development we can reduce and prevent the likelihood of human trafficking.
