In August 2011 a team of 9 people from Hope City Church and Hope Empowered travelled to Vietnam and Thailand to continue the work of The Hope Project.
The Hope Project seeks to reduce and prevent the trafficking of children and women into sexual exploitation and slavery.
Hope’s heart and approach in addressing this complex issue is embodied in and through Community Transformation.

The 2011 Brisbane Floods caused widespread damage and destruction. The community response, however, was overwhelming and great show of solidarity. Hope City Church spread a team of people throughout Graceville to help as many people as possible.

Kids Hope Aus is a school-based mentoring program that helps Australian children who require additional support.
Through a partnership between World Vision, Hope Empowered, Hope City Church and Grovely State School, Kids Hope Aus works to improve opportunities for mentored children in the areas of education, self confidence and wellbeing.

In January 2011, the Murphy’s Creek community was devastated by a flash flood.
As a small gesture of our heart for this small, tight-knit community Hope City Church coordinated a one-day make-over of the school to enhance the facilities and offer some joy and refuge to the children, teachers and parents.
Whilst it was only 1 day, the outcomes were phenomenal and equated to approximately 600 ‘man-hours’.
